Organic Japanese cotton and timeless design

Today we are introducing another staple of the new collection: The High-Neck Sweater by Plantation1982, from Japan.

All the pieces included in our Fall/Winter selection are easy to match and offer various styling possibilities. The design may look simple at first glance, but details are never left to chance. Indeed, they are all very well curated – that is the point of good design.

The material is 100% cotton, with an exceptionally soft hand. And its ripple structure is swollen like a tube, replacing the usual rib structure.

The collar is slightly higher than the bottleneck so that it covers the neck fully, but it does not have a hold feeling like any typical high neck. Its design adds style while leaving the body free to move.

Furthermore, the vertical texture of the fabric makes it difficult to pick up the lines of your body and underwear. As a result, this garment is extra comfortable to wear.

The high-neck sweater is the perfect piece for the seasonal transitions, but it is easy to use as an inner for cardigans or jackets too. So you feel its softness in contact with the skin.

Also, the uneven border pattern expressed by the weaving gives a casual yet elegant impression. And the styling options are many. You can wear it with pants or skirts, depending on the need of the day. It can perfectly blend with casual or sporty outfits as with any more elegant look.

Now a note about the colour.
The base is dark green, an intense dark green, and the stripes are navy. This colour matching offers a soft and refined image.

Washed to give a unique texture, it’s an easy-care item. So, you can wash it by hand at home.

Perhaps you will buy lesser pieces, but you’ll take beautiful clothing that lasts over the years.
And you’ll love wearing them.

The Striped Tunic Sweater by Plantation

Minimal, seasonless and timeless design from Japan

Going ahead with defining a capsule wardrobe, today we introduce: The Striped Tunic Sweater by Plantation1982.

Here, we are going to tell you more about the material and design which, at first, may look simple, yet each detail is deeply curated. Perhaps noticing details is something people are not used to anymore, though we know that some individuals have a special eye. But for those who don’t, we hope you’ll rediscover the pleasure of being more attentive, and maybe, more curious.

Discover The Striped Tunic Sweater

Made in Japan, this sweater is 100% cotton – with a soft hand. It’s easy to match, and its cosy silhouette adds an elegant touch even to casual outfits.

The ripple structure is swollen, like a tube – replacing the usual rib working.
The boat neck is shallow in the vertical direction and wide in the horizontal. This design makes the neckline look beautiful.

In addition, the vertical texture of the fabric makes it difficult to pick up the lines of your body and underwear. As a result, this garment is very comfortable to wear.

The tunic sweater is ideal transitioning between seasons. But no worries, when the weather gets colder, it is easy to layer over it with a cardigan. Or a tank top or t-shirt underneath. Since the material surface is uneven, it will look great with many outfits.

The length is 168 cm, so it comfortably covers the hip line.

Now the colour: off-white. The base is off-white as a gentle cream. The stripes are mocha brown, giving an overall light and soft impression.

This product is washed to give it a unique texture. And, most importantly, you can wash it by hand at home (easy-care product).

Educating ourselves to be aware of what we buy. Taking more time to evaluate, appreciating details – is a worthy exercise.
The world is full of garbage, we don’t need more of it. Choose wisely!

The Niche Choice

Exploring what sets us apart in a saturated market

When it comes to fashion or lifestyle choices, you have two options: opt for the most popular brands or search for what’s different. Likewise, you can choose holidays in crowded destinations or search for your places, out of the beaten path.

Needless to say, we tend to go for the latter. And if you interact with us – in person or through our digital world – you’re likely on the same page. Perhaps, like us, you have seen it all in fashion, and now you want more.

So, we look for what we call niche designers or niche brands.
And it’s not that we don’t like popular brands. In fact, we could handpick some cool items from those collections. But we love to search for something more unique. For a style that is special, and not immediately recognizable. In other words, more personal. That style is you.

Key points for our niche choice

What keys we do use to analyse fashion collections?

Design and style
First, we’re drawn to the designer’s perspective, what the brand brings to the table. From what we consider a valuable style proposition, we pick the pieces we like, which are then reviewed from other angles to meet our quality standards: the construction and fit, how the garment falls, the occasion it’s suited for, the materials. And the price point.

Timeless aesthetic
We select items that you can wear for years. If some pieces recall a fashion trend, it is never so overt that they’ll look outdated the following season. In fact, our pieces always look fashion-forward.

Seasonless
We tend to select items that you can wear year-round. By layering, you can wear them in any season. It avoids fashion cycles and so the ‘buy & toss’ mentality.

Comfortable
Pieces that you can wear on multiple occasions, but they are never out of place.

Of course, a niche selection is not for everyone. But that’s what makes it even more special.

Less Stuff, More Meaning

An evolved essence of style: beyond trends, toward identity and purpose

Passing through the storm of the pandemic, we had the feeling that many brands had lost their grip, their meaning while a few others were able to sustain consistent work, somehow surviving the impact. Not because their message was new, but because, perhaps thirty years ago, they dared to propose a different viewpoint. By the way, that is the power of innovation, not everyone grasps the message immediately. It takes a time, sometimes even decades.

So many garments now feel like they belong to an old world, no longer appropriate. Some others, however, have carried forward their codes, values, as they are still modern, versatile and never out-of-place. They are effortlessly timeless.

In order to adapt to a new environment and to find a meaningful way to pursue our passion for design and fashion, we have to pay attention to select the right pieces—curating with intention, while clearing away the excess.

The new aesthetic develops around deeper concepts: timeless and comfortable silhouettes, soft textures, materials you love to feel on your skin. Fewer pieces, higher quality is what identifies a modern wardrobe.

Less stuff, more meaning is the evolved ethos #formodernhumans
