Selecting Fashion For Connoisseurs

Reading Time: 2 minutes

How to navigate the fashion weeks

In a finite world of endless options, most of which have a massified concept, selecting fashion for connoisseurs represents very specific research. Less but better, timeless fashion and quiet luxury are fundamental values for people like us.

By the way, given that overproduction ignores the current dramatic situation, we find it thoughtless to focus on brands that still operate on such a pattern.

So, we are keeping an eye on some international brands, and of course, we are curious to see what happens around us in the fashion field. But that’s just what it is–curiosity. In order to survive all the fluff that overwhelms the industry and contributes to making it less fascinating, we need to be very clear.

Fashion selection

Our preferences and choices reflect our values. We know what we need and what we don’t. So, let’s recap what it is precisely.

First, what we don’t need:

  • obsessive trends
  • poor design
  • mass products, quantity, overproduction/ overconsumption
  • fake sustainable products
  • exhausting social media presence

Too much noise and confusion. There’s too much of everything put out in a compulsive manner. That is not for people like us.

Now, what do we want?

  • clothes made to last: staples and meaningful garments. Once you consciously purchase, they will become a constant element of your wardrobe. That’s what timeless fashion means
  • tailoring: well-crafted clothes made with care and attention
  • beautiful fabrics: when you touch and wear them, you feel the difference on your skin
  • good design and quality

The market is large, crowded and oversaturated with pointless stuff. Should we fit in? No, thanks. Brands’ social media presence doesn’t impress us. Influencers don’t influence us. We prefer less, much less, but better. Niche fashion–it might not be for you, which is fine.

Selecting fashion for connoisseurs, people like us, we seek unique clothes for unique people.

Fashion Far From Consumerism

Spring-summer 23: bringing back meaning

Can we think about fashion far from consumerism? Indeed, there’s a way of conceiving the fashion industry cleared of its toxic downsides.

Spring-summer 23, a sense of re-birth comes with the new season. And so, we want to take you with us on our journey out of the blob of mass-produced clothes. Come with us to discover rarities and excellence to bring back meaning in an industry that, as it is now, has lost it.

Fashion & consumerism

If fashion mirrors our society, what we see is growth mania. The industry brainwashed people into overconsumption and disposable culture. In fact, there is a constant need for novelties which has much in common with addictive behaviours. But this massified fashion comes with a cost. It has a polluting and destructive impact.

So, we want to take you with us on a different path, which we’ll hone season after season. There’s no perfection but the commitment to doing better, stepping away from pointless labels or empty claims.
Good design, well-made clothes are for those who can see them. However, attention to design, details, and materials are fundamentals to bringing meaning back into fashion.

Spring-Summer 23: niche fashion #formodernhumans

So come with us to explore the Spring-Summer 23: garments made with care and passion. Indeed, the sense of tailoring prevails. Silhouettes are slightly more defined but always comfortable. Specifically, materials have a pleasant hand feel, and lines don’t make your body feel compressed.

There are drapings, a design detail that adds a special touch to t-shirts and dresses, making them suitable for different body shapes. But also, cool military pants and exclusive knitwear. And shirts, timeless garments par excellence, improved with a modern twist, in multiple lengths. Plus comfortable flat leather shoes for your summer walks.

The selection is accurate, essential and in limited quantities. A design-focused slow fashion, far from consumerism. Indeed, garments feature a carry-over design, becoming made-to-last stylish classics.

What if the perspective of what you considered new so far is wrong?

Where Do We Find Value?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Redefining worth in a world of overabundance

Where do we find value? In a world full of empty marketing claims, unclear manufacturing regulations and massive greenwashing, if you want to buy a product, it’s very hard to differentiate between what is worthy and what is not.

And so, in this jungle, where do we find value?

Thoughtful design and quality

First, we need to define value: it lies in thoughtful design, high-quality standards achieved through good materials and skilled craftsmanship, together with ethical production practices. Respect for people and the planet form the essence of true, modern worth.

That said, we are perfectly aware it’s complicated to identify it. But here and there in our globalized jungle, we can see some lights.

Value: where do we find it?

We find true value in small artisanal brands that blend a creative approach with skilled craftsmanship and the selection of extra-fine quality materials.

We also find value in up-and-coming or unconventional designers who demonstrate a high dose of creativity and innovation but talk to a limited audience because most people see nothing but famous brands.

A good rule of thumb is that higher worth is often found in less popular brands or products. The most recognised brands are rarely the best.

Those elevated products target a niche that has become smaller and smaller because the mainstream offers cheap products or top brands. In full transparency, the state of many top brands is far from exciting. Advertising has done a good job of creating automatons–consumers who rarely lift their eyes to question or show even a minimal level of curiosity.

Although we cannot imagine a world made of sublime products only, the opposite trend is all too evident. If we analyse the state of culture, we can see that lowering the bar has become the prevailing norm. In fact, culture is not in good shape at all.

On the other hand, some individuals remain different–they never stopped reading or searching for unique things. They still think for themselves. By staying outside the mainstream, perhaps people like us can’t reverse the trend, not in the short run, at least. But we must join forces and raise our voices in support of value, because it’s time to stop celebrating mediocrity.

If we cannot reverse the trend, we can still make a difference.
