The double cross four tuck trousers by Meagratia

Relaxed tailoring — elegance beyond conventions

We picked the double cross four tuck trousers by Meagratia for their silhouette: relaxed yet refined. The design and fabric make them a versatile piece, equally suited to more formal combinations and relaxed everyday dressing.

Identity is never quite as fixed as the clothes we are expected to wear. In Orlando, Virginia Woolf plays with gender, time and the conventions through which we define ourselves. Meagratia’s genderless tailoring offers a quieter proposition: a garment need not prescribe who wears it, or when.

The piece

A signature genderless Meagratia silhouette with a distinctive four-pleat front, creating a relaxed yet refined shape. Cut from ‘double cross’ — double-woven fabric — the trousers have a smooth, lightweight feel against the skin and a fluid drape. The wide leg tapers towards the hem, balancing ease with a clean, defined line.

A satin drawstring waist allows for an adjustable fit without a belt, while a front zip secured with two buttons keeps the finish neat. Two side pockets and two rear pockets — one buttoned, the other finished with a subtle patch logo — complete the design.

Ash brown — the colour of stone warmed by the afternoon sun. An understated neutral, grounded yet never flat.

Double-woven fabric made from 100% recycled materials. Made in Japan.

Worn your way

For a city walk: Pair them with a cotton T-shirt or a wool knit and trainers. The pleats add structure, while the relaxed fit keeps the look effortless.

For work: A crisp shirt or a fine-gauge knit creates a sharper silhouette without making it overly formal. Add loafers or lace-ups for a more tailored finish.

For the evening: A minimal top, a tailored jacket and sleek heels bring out the trousers’ dressier side. The fluid fabric does much of the work without the need for elaborate styling.

For the modern humans who curate, not consume — whose wardrobe is a library of dog-eared favourites, each piece a chapter in their story.
